An electron in an atom has momentum even if it's total energy is negative ;but we must note that a body possessing momentum must be in motion and consequently possessing kinetic energy and not negative energy.So in fact the momentum of the body becomes imaginary if the total energy is negative.HOPE IT HELPS..
