a boy cannot remain at rest if the forces are more than his body weight but if his weight is more than he can remain at rest

reason-
1) according to newton's 1 law of motion, an object an object at rest or uniform motion continues to remain in the same state unless and until an unbalanced external force is acted upon it.
2) when the balanced force acting upon an object then the net force is 0 N.
=>that for a body to remain in rest even when external forces are acting on it. it should be acted upon by many forces and the sum total of all these forces should be 0 N that is they should be balanced.
