No because the highest temperature a clinical thermometer is capable of recording is 100 degree Celsius but it is not really necessary for the water to be exactly 100 degree Celsius while boiling its likely to be a little higher than that.

The clinical thermometer ranges from temperature "35 degree Celsius" to "45 degree Celsius" whereas the water boiling point is 100 degree Celsius which is above the limit of a clinical thermometer for the measurement. When the clinical thermometer is placed at the hot water, it will be destroyed because of high temperature.
