Jute can be cultivated on all varieties of soils from clay to sandy loam, but loamy alluvial is best conformed. Laterite and gravel soils are not adequate for this crop. Hence, jute can be grown in any part of Rajasthan.
- The favourable environment for growing jute is a warm and wet climate, which is requested by the monsoon environment during the fall season, instantly fulfilled by summer. Weathers varying from more than 25 °C and comparative humidity of 70%–90% are favourable for suitable cultivation.
- To grow jute, farmers disperse the seeds on cultivated soil. When the plants are about 10–20 cm tall, they grow out. About four months after farming, harvesting starts up. The plants are usually harvested after they flower and before the blossoms go to seed.
