no it can't. it can exist only in dipoles,not in monopole also..

SeldonAngmo: kk.... take a permanent magnet n rub it's one end against the ends of another metal or steel..so that both ends of the steel would acquire the same polarity.. then the middle part of d steel would become a pole own it's own (opposite to those whichformed at the ends of the steel
