Yes one can alter the mars enviroment and make it suitable for human habitation. This can be done through making of alot of oxygen in the planet then plant trees which will be which use the carbon dioxide that human beings release to make food and then human beings ca use the oxygen thta the plants release for their consumption.. Then human beings can move to the place and settle there and use the oxygen that the plants that exist there realese. The main problem tha makes mars not to suport life is lackof oxygen and if the plant release enoughof the oxyge huma beings can be able to settle there.
