As a matter of fact you can, but it depends on the antigen and RH protein.
Let me explain it to you.
A person having A blood group has only A antigen in his blood. He can donate blood to people having A antigen in their blood( a and ab blood group)
A person having B blood group has only B antigen in his blood. He can donate blood to people having B antigen in their blood( b and ab blood group)
A person having O blood group has no antigen, so he can donate blood to everyone.
But not all O blood group ppl can donate blood to everyone. It is now that RH protein comes into picture.
If there is no RH protein, it is negative blood group.
Negative blood group can be donated to positive blood group, but vice-verse is not possible.
Therefore we can say:
O negative - universal donor
AB positive - universal recipient
