Hey Friend

Basically an element can be identified by its Atomic Number.

A pure element may be identified by its mass by comparing it to its mass found in the periodic table, but it's not at all times accurate.

Hope it helps ☺☺☺

NO. THE ATOMIC NUMBER IS ALWAYS FIXED BUT MASS NUMBER VARIES FOR DIFFERENT ISOTOPES.FOR EXAMPLE HELIUM HAS TWO ISOTOPES OF 3 AND 4 MASS BUT BOTH HAVE THE ATOMIC NUMBER 2.SO MASS NUMBER CANNOT ALONE IDENTIFY THE ELEMENT. EVEN OUR PERIODIC TABLE IS BASED ON ATOMIC NUMBER.
