Can a single cell live independently on its own ?explain with example?

of course it can but if the size of the organism is very big then it cannot control body for eg. in multicellular big organisms (humans) specific cell have specific function so there are neurons are for transmitting messages and muscle cells have specific function to contract and relax but small organism's cell can control the all the function of the body for eg. amoeba can divide itself through one cell....so a single cell can live independently in small organisms but not in big organism
