can a stationary body start moving along the direction of smaller force acting on it

Yes if the force applied to the stationary body
is more then that of force acting opposite to its direction .

The applied force should be enough to overcome the frictional force ...nd if two forces are acting together then where more force will be applied it will move in that direction.. hope it helps
