Can an actin filament exist with all subunits of ADP-actin - NO

Explanation:

  • Actin is a sub-unit of the muscle protein. It is a part of muscle filament, participating actively in the muscle contraction.
  • Actin participates in the muscle contraction as two sub-units – G and F actin.
  • These three sub-units have different works to do. And, during the contraction, they convert a molecule from ATP to ADP.
  • This leads to the contraction. But, the phase difference is such that during the phase when the ATP binds with the Actin, they remain together.
  • But, when the ATP catalyzes to ADP, the Actin sub-units separate. Thus, during ADP actin, the sub-units remain separated.
