- Yes,an earthquake causes floods .If the infrastructure of dams inbuilt is weak then it may leads to flooding .
- An earthquake may cause floods with help of tsunami.when the earthquake occurs the tectonic plates inside the sea slightly moves over one another this leads to huge tide waves in the sea which further cause destruction by tsunami.
- Third factor that may cause flood by an earthquake is landslide.If there will be landslide through an earthquake it leads to flooding also the water make path through this gap portion.If the landslide area is near river then possibility of occuring flood is high.
- Fourth factor is Soil liquefaction it is similar to landslide.In soil liquefaction soil loses its strength ,ability and become like liquid.If there will be no strength in the soil the infrastructure which is built over it falls down.so,an earthquake causes soil liquefaction.
