Can an electron make a transition between two atoms differing by energy? Means that can an electron goes from the ground state of one atom to excited state of other atoms and vice versa? pleas answer those who clearly understand and knows confirm.​

Explanation: So , in order to do that , it is essential that a electron needs to have enough energy to escape from the first atom and if also it because it is no more inside of energy shell , there maybe constant energy loss if it accelerates . in those conditions , it will be re-traped in an electron . this also happens in a special condition , metallic bond : metal atoms are side by side and a electron , due to some of its special characterists , elecrton jumps from one electron to another continuosly . this makes metals help having special characterists , like Malleability , Ductility etc
