can an object be accelerated if it is moving with constant speed? if yes explain giving examples

Yes.An object can have acceleration although it is traveling with constant speed.
Example: Let us consider a body traveling with constant speed in a circular motion.But in a circular motion velocity can't be constant as velocity is vector quantity and so the direction and velocity changes at every tangent.We know that acceleration is relative to velocity.Acceleration is defined as rate of change velocity.And the velocity is changing in this motion and so it is said to be in acceleration.Therefore a body with constant speed can be said to be in acceleration if it is circular motion.
