actually it depends on its path of object because , acceleration is the velocity change per unit time whereas speed is not velocity, it is numerically equal to velocity if the path followed by object is straight in such case acceleration can be given to the object moving with constant velocity ,there is no relation of speed of object  theoretically or practically to the acceleration of object ,but yes if object is moving in a straight line the .
