Can an object going north have acceleration towards the south

no it is not possible because an object which is going north and acceleration towards north will take place not in the south. as we know that friction is opposite but acceleration is not opposite .....

yes , because of friction as friction of force is the opposing force and when object comes into play or stationary point . as friction act towards opposite side
