<b >hey here is your answer

an object can move along a carved path if no force act on it due to Inertia of direction . ( from Newton's first law of motion )

Inertia of direction definition : the inherent property of the object by virtue of which it is unable to change its direction of motion by itself is called inertia of direction .

Newton's first law of motion : According to this law , every body continue in its state of rest or of uniform motion in a straight line , unless it is commpelled by some external force to change the state .

hope this helps you
