life processes :
life processes are those vital functions of living organism which are necessary for maintenance of life
this include nutrition respiration, transportation of material ,control and coordination, growth and reproduction...

now , nutrition:
the word nutrition is derived from the word nutrient the nutrition is a process of intake of food as well as utilisation of food by an organism...

types of Nutrition:

1) autotrophic nutrition.

it is a type of nutrition in which organism prepare their own food by utilising inorganic raw material...

2) heterotrophic it is a type of nutrition in which organism depends directly or indirectly upon the autotrophs for the organic food they take readymade food from the other dead or living plants or animals because they lack chlorophyll....



Nutrition in human beings:

human being or heterotrophic omnivorous which have a well defined system for digestion of food that is alimentary canal....

alimentary canal:
alimentary Canal in human being is approximately 9 metres long, continuous tube which enters from mouth to anus... where is Ducts open in this Canal to bring digestive secretions for the associative digestive glands....

the various parts of alimentary canal in human beings are
1) mouth or buccal cavity

2) food pipe or oesophagus

3) small intestine

4) large intestine

5) anus

mouth:

the uppermost opening of the digestive system through which intake of food is called mouth ...

it is also called oral cavity it is large space which has palates Above and below the tongue hard palates and soft palates....


food pipe:

pharynx: common passage of respiratory and digestive tract from this tube proceeds ..these are food Pipe and opening of windpipe or treachea is closed by the epiglottis why swalloing of food finally bolus enters the food pipe
......


oesophagus: it is extended between the mouth and the stomach...

its length is about 2.5 cm...

and it does not contain any gland ...

it pushes the food towards the stomach through a wave of alternate contraction
of expansion called peristalsis.....


Stomach:

it is j shaped , thick walled, widest, muscular....

it lies in the upper part of the abdomen and below the diaphragm... in the walls of stomach there is branch and tabular structures present these are called gastric glands which secretes gastric juices.....
