In the given figure, 80° is vertically opposite to x and from the properties of we know that sum of all angles of a triangle is 180°.

According to a property of triangles, if an angle is vertically opposite to an another angle, measure of both the angle will be equal.

In this question, 80° is vertically opposite to x, thus the measure of x will 80°

An another property of triangles, sum of all angle( at vertices ) is 180°. It states that in a triangle ABC, sum of angle ABC, angle ACB and angle CBA should be 180° , or, angle ACB + angle ABC + angle CBA = 180° .

Therefore,

= > sum of all angles of this triangle = 180°

= > 50° + x + y = 180°

From above, measure of x is 80°

= > 50° + 80° + y = 180°

= > y = 180° - 130°

= > y = 50°

Hence, measure of x is 80° and measure of y is 50°.

Here ,

We are given with a triangle. In which we are having three angles that are of 50° , x and y.

We have to find the values of x and y.

x = 80° (Vertically Opposite Angles)

Then , if two angles of a triangle are known to us then we can easily find out the third one by using the Angle Sum Property of triangle.

x+y+50° = 180°(Angle Sum Property of The Triangle)

80°+50°+y = 180°

130°+y = 180°

y = 180°-130° = 50°
