hey mate

here is your answer..

given:

y is directly proportional to t

thus,

y=k*t

where k is the constant of proportionality.

6=k*4

k=3/2

(i)-when t=6

then,y=k*t

=3/2*6

=9 (answer)

(ii)-when y=4

then,

y=k*t

4=3/2*t

t=2*4/3

t=8/3 (answer)

LIKE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!!!

Given that y varies as t.

So, Y is directly proportional to t.

y=kt

When y = 6, t=4

y=kt

6=k4

6/4 =k

3/2= K

1) Given t=6

y=kt

y=3/2 × 6

y=3×3

y=9

2) Y=4

y=kt

4=3/2 t

4×2/3 =t

8/3 = t

When you take a term to another side, sign changes as follows :-

1) Plus to minus

2) Minus to plus

3) Multiplication to division

4) Division to multiplication

SillySam: No irrelevant comments :)
sandhuSaaB1234: okay
Anonymous: not necessary!
Anonymous: x=5
Anonymous: 5=x (did the signs change!)
SillySam: yeah, sign changed, if you do as this
SillySam: it would be -5 = -x
SillySam: signs are changed but not really because they got cancelled :)
