Hi,

Given Two roots, x= -1 and x= -2

Given Equation P(x)=px²+3x+q=0

Put x= -1 in the equation,
p(-1)²+3(-1)+q=0
p-3+q=0
p+q=3-----(i)

Put x= -2 in the equation,
p(-2)²+3(-2)+q=0
4p-6+q=0
4p+q=6-----(ii)

Solving it simultaneously, p=1
putting p = 1 in equation (i)
q = 2

ATQ,
p-q = 1-2 = -1

Hence, the value p-q= -1
