Answer: Momentum is the product of mass and velocity of a body, for a body mass never be zero but velocity can be zero if a body is at rest, So if a body is at rest its momentum is zero but if it is in rest at a height it possesses gravitational potential energy hence mechanical energy.

Yes object can have mechanical energy. Mechanical energy is of two types (a) kinetic energy (b) potential energy.
(a) Kinetic energy is posses by a body by virtue of its motion.
(b) Potential energy is posses by a body by virtue of its position or shape or configuration.
Mechanical energy is sum of kinetic energy and Potential energy so the body have mechanical energy.
