(i) Let the length of the other pole be x m.
As the length of an object increases its shadow also becomes larger. ∴ the height and length of the shadow are proportionate.
⇒ 5.60/3.20 = 10.50/x
⇒ x= 6 m (cross multiplying)
(ii) Let the height of the pole be y m.
as said above the height and length are proportional to each other.
∴ 5.60/3.20 = y/5
⇒ y = 8.75m
