 {Hypotenous}^{2}  =  {Perpendicular}^{2}  +  {Base}^{2}

 {10}^{2}  =  {8}^{2}  +  {a}^{2}  \\  \implies {a}^{2}  =  {10}^{2}  -  {8}^{2}  \\   \implies {a}^{2}  = 100 - 64 \\  \implies {a}^{2}  = 36 \\  \implies \: a =  \sqrt{36} \\  \implies a = 6
