Hey mate..
========

▪The French Revolution (1789–1799) was a period of ideological, political and social upheaval in the political history of France and Europe as a whole, during which the French polity, previously an absolute monarchy with feudal privileges for the aristocracy and Catholic clergy, underwent radical change to forms based on Enlightenment principles of republicanism, citizenship, and rights.

▪These changes were accompanied by violent turmoil, including executions and repression during the Reign of Terror, and warfare involving every other major European power.

▪The Revolution was originally a popular uprising against the absolute power of the king and against the privileges and wealth of the elite, and was perpetrated in the name of liberty, equality and fraternity.

▪ In reality it led to the loss of liberty, dictatorship and nationalism. The revolution was based on a hatred of tradition and desire to use the power of the state to create a new order. People were given new identities as citizens of the state. To crush the resistance to revolution and the new order about 18,000 - 40,000 people were executed.

Hope it helps !

French Revolution [around 1770s and 1780s to 1840s and even later] was one of three major Revolutions in History. It did not occur at a particular date or year. It occured for around 100 years after American War of Independence. French Revolution was inspired by this Revolution. It was the gradual transformation of monarchy and absolute powers into democracy with limited power and civil rights.
First of all, the situations in France at that time were such that the 3rd Estate [Common People] were upset amd unhappy with the king Louis XVI. People gathered in an indoor tennis court outside the hall of meeting of Estate-General. They declared themselves as the National Assembly and took an oath that they would not leave until they had drafted a Constitution for France that can limit the powers of the king. This oath can to be known as Tennis Court Oath and was addressed by Abbe Sieyes. When this constitution came into effect, France became constitutional monarchy. Then the Jacobians formed the government and introduced an institution called Directory. Maximilian Robespierre was the leader of Jacobians. He was a dictator and his reign was known as Reign of Terror [As far as I remember, 1792-1794]. Finally, Robespierre, Louis XVI and his wife Marie Antoinette were executed. With this, France became a Republic.
