Answer:

Explanation:

An oceanic basin is the land surface under an ocean that includes the topography under the water. The ocean floors can be divided into four major divisions:

  • The continental shelf:

A continental shelf is an the area of seabed around a large land mass where the sea is relatively shallow compared with the open ocean. The continental shelf is geologically part of the continental crust.

  • The  continental slope:

A continental slope is  he slope between the outer edge of the continental shelf and the deep ocean floor.

  • The deep sea plain:

The deep sea plain, also called abyssal plains, is an underwater plain on the deep ocean floor, usually found at depths between 3,000 metres (9,800 ft) and 6,000 metres (20,000 ft). Lying generally between the foot of a continental rise and a mid-ocean ridge, the deep sea plains cover more than 50% of the Earth’s surface. They are among the flattest, smoothest, and least explored regions on Earth. The deep sea plain plains are key geologic elements of oceanic basins.

  • The Trenches:

Oceanic trenches are topographic depressions of the sea floor, relatively narrow in width, but very long. These oceanographic features are the deepest parts of the ocean floor. Oceanic trenches are a distinctive morphological feature of convergent plate boundaries, along which lithospheric plates or tectonic plates, move towards each other at rates that vary from a few millimeters to over ten centimeters per year. A trench marks the position at which the flexed, subducting slab begins to descend beneath another lithospheric slab.
