Answer:

( A ) :

(3X)(3X) = (8Y)(8Y)

Or : (3X)(3X) - (8Y)(8Y) = 0

( B ) :

* The equation : 4X² + 12X - 55 = 0

* The possible values of X are : { 5/2 , -11/5 }

( C ) :

* ( i ) : sorry but there's a mistake in this question

* ( ii ) : X = { 5.9 , -3.9}

Step-by-step explanation:

( A )

∵ 9X² - 64 Y² = 0

∵ 9 = 3x3

∵ 64 = 8x8

∴ (3X)(3X) - (8Y)(8Y) = 0

∴ (3X)(3X) = (8Y)(8Y)

( B )

The equation is : 4 × X × ( X + 3 ) = 55

∵ 4X × ( X + 3 ) = 55

∴ 4X² + 12X = 55

∴ 4X² + 12X - 55 = 0

∴ ( X - 5/2 ) ( X + 11/5 ) = 0

∴ the equation will be equal to zero if ( X - 5/2 ) = 0 or ( X + 11/5 ) = 0

∴ at : ( X - 5/2 ) = 0 , X = 5/2

∴ at : ( X + 11/5 ) = 0 , X = -11/5

∴ the possible values of X are : { 5/2 , -11/5 }

( C )

( i ) Sorry , but there's a mistake in this question , this equation must be

X² - 2X - 13 = 0 to be able to prove

( ii )

∵ X² - 2X - 23 = 0

∴ ( X - ( 1+2√6 ) ) ( X - ( 1 - 2√6 ) )

∵ 1+2√6 ≈ 5.9 , 1 - 2√6 = - 3.9

∴ X = { 5.9 , -3.9}
