Arthopoda is a phylum of the kingdom animalia. Animalia is one of the five kingdoms in which organisma are grouped according to their features.

Arthopods mainly contains all the insects. The word arthopod means jointed legs. Insects have a pair of jointed legs, so they are grouped in this phylum(arthopoda) of kingdom animalia

Characteristics of phylum Arthropoda

They live in all types of habitats on land in freshwater and in sea and as a parasites on and in the body of animals and plants .

Most arthropods have compound Eyes .
