Answer:

It happens due to interconversion of state of matter.

Explanation:

Ice being heated become as water which is known as melting.

Water being heated becomes steam which is called vaporization.

And likewise all happens

Melting

Melting is the process where we change a substance from its solid state to its liquid state. This is done (here) by heating the solid. We add heat so that the atoms in the solid becomes more active and theis help in breaking the force of attraction. Here we heat the ice cubes so that it melts and forms water

Vaporization

The liquid water changes to steam or in other words vapour on hearing further. Here also we provide heat so that the water molecules attain velocity and the bond weakens even more. Water turns from liquid to vapour at 100° C

Liquefaction

This is a process where the water that is in the form of vapour (gas) is turned back to liquid. Here we are cooling down the vapour by holding a vessel on top,the vessel is a solid and would have particles with less kinetic energy,so less heat which reduces the kinetic energy of the particles in the vapour and converts it into liquid

Solidification

Here the water which is in it's liquid form state is changed back into the state in which we started, that is into a ice cube (solid). To do so we have to reduce the kinetic energy of the water molecules so that the force of attraction will increase thus making it a solid and for that we cool down the water.
