elections are very important for any country as it lead to formation of gov. which shall work for development of country.indian constitution has granted all citizen above age of18,right to vote. it means every citizen whose age is 18 years or above can vote and choose representatives.in some places voting is done through secret ballot.where in some place modern machines are also used..

there are 2 types of election held  in india -1)assembly election 2) general election for lok sabha(parliament)
both are held at interval of 5 years
they are supervised by election commision which also issues  the guidlines regarding model code of conduct which include election expenditure by a candidate for campaigning in his constituency and contents of speeches
