18.numbers in a die= 1,2,3,4,5,6
P(getting 7)=0/6=0
19.total students=40
no. of boys=15
no. of girls=45-15
=30
P(selecting a girl)=30/40
=3/4

◆ 18. A fair dice is a dice in which the probability of getting any face is equal.

So, as we know that 7 cannot be in a dice.


Therefore,

Probability = 0.

◆ 19. Let the number of girls are x.

So, according to the given question;

40 = 15 + x

=> x = 40 - 15

=> x = 25

So, the number of girls is 25.

Probability of selecting a girl = Total Number of girls ÷ Total Students


= 25 ÷ 40

= 5 ÷ 8.


So, the probability of selecting a girl is 5/8.
