The place is an important pilgrimage and tourist spot .Somnath Temple is a specimen of fine architecture of one of the twelve Jyotirlingas shrine of Shiva .This place is believed to be the place where Lord Krishna ended his Leela and thereafter left for heavenly Abode therefore it is termed as eternal shrine.
