Given np3 : np2 = 3:1

= \ \textgreater \   \frac{n!}{n - 3!} *  \frac{n - 2!}{2!} =  \frac{3}{1}

= \ \textgreater \   \frac{(n - 2)!}{(n - 3)!} = 3

= \ \textgreater \   \frac{(n - 2)(n - 3)!}{(n - 3)!} = 3

= \ \textgreater \  (n - 2) = 3

= > n = 3 + 2

= > n = 5.

Hope this helps!
