a.   Most of the cells in your body use glucose along with amino acids (the building blocks of protein) and fats for energy. But it's the main source of fuel for your brain. Nerve cells and chemical messengers there need it to help them process information. Without it, your brain wouldn't be able to work well.

b.  When glucose (C6H12O6) reacts with oxygen, carbon dioxide and water are produced. The balanced equation for this reaction is: If 12 moles of oxygen react, The reaction consumes moles of glucose (C6H12O6). The reaction produces moles of carbon dioxide and moles of water.
