Answer:

Basic Concept :

Eq. resistance of series :

⇒ Rs = R1 + R2 + ... + Rn

Eq. resistance of parallel :

⇒ 1/Rp = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + ... + 1/Rn

⎆ As per ohm's law, Current flow through a conductor is directly proportional to the applied potential difference.

Mathematically, V = IR

SoluTion - 6)

1,2 and 3 are in series :

▪ R123 = R1 + R2 + R3

▪ R123 = 60 + 20 + 35

R123 = 115Ω

123 and 4 are in parallel :

▪ 1/R = 1/R123 + 1/R4

▪ 1/R = 1/115 + 1/14

▪ R = (115×14)/(115+14)

▪ R = 1610/129

R = 12.48Ω

Curren flow :

▪ V = IR

▪ I = 5/12.48

I = 0.4A

SoluTion - 7)

1 and 2 are in series :

▪ R12 = R1 + R2

▪ R12 = 4 + 4

R12 = 8Ω

3 and 4 are in series :

▪ R34 = R3 + R4

▪ R34 = 4 + 4

R34 = 8Ω

R12 and R34 are in parallel :

▪ 1/R = 1/R12 + 1/R34

▪ 1/R = 1/8 + 1/8

▪ R = 8/2

R = 4Ω

Current flow :

▪ V = IR

▪ I = 1.5/4

I = 0.375A

SoluTion - 5)

R1 and R2 are in parallel :

▪ 1/R12 = 1/R1 + 1/R2

▪ 1/R12 = 1/6 + 1/6

R12 = 3Ω

R3 and R4 are in parallel :

▪ 1/R34 = 1/R3 + 1/R4

▪ 1/R34 = 1/6 + 1/6

R34 = 3Ω

R12 and R34 are in series :

▪ R = R12 + R34

▪ R = 3 + 3

R = 6Ω

Current flow :

▪ V = IR

▪ I = 3/6

I = 0.5A
