1-Igneous rocks are defined as types of rocks that are formed when molten rock (rock liquefied by intense heat and pressure) cools to a solid state.

2- Rock that has formed through the deposition and solidification of sediment, especially sediment transported by water (rivers, lakes, and oceans), ice (glaciers), and wind. Sedimentary rocks are often deposited in layers, and frequently contain fossils.

3- the rigid outer part of the earth, consisting of the crust and upper mantle is called lithosphere

Answer:

(1). Igneous rocks:- The term Igneous is derived from the Latin word 'ignis' meaning 'fire'. Forming by the cooling down of molten magma inside the Earth's crust or on the Earth's surface. This process takes thousands of years.

(2). Sedimentary Rocks:- The word 'Sedimentary' originates from a Latin word 'Sedimenter' which means settle down'.Rocks are constantly broken down into smaller fragments and carried away by the wind, water or ice and deposited either on the sea bed or on land. These rocks are generally formed under water. These smaller particles are called sediments.

(2). Outermost layer of the Earth. The oceanic crust is known as SIMA and the continental crust is known as SIMA. It is about 8 to 35 km thick. Its thickness is about 5 to 8 km under the ocean floors to 35 km. it is useful to us in many ways.....

1. here, in this layer rocks and minerals are found.

2. Rocks are made up of one or more minerals.

3. Minerals provide us metals and chemicals.

(3). sedimentary rocks are made up of particles of various is small and deposited in horizontal layer one over the other. rocks contain fossils of animals and plants between layers of sediments these rocks constitutes 70% of all rocks found on the earth surface full stop it is interesting to note that our fossil fuels like coal and petroleum are found trapped in the layer of these rocks.

(4). minerals are the substance which occur in rocks. their main characteristics are as follows......

  1. they have a definite chemical composition. Each mineral consist two or more simple substance called elements.
  2. they provide us Chemicals and metals.

3. they are non living solid substances.
