A Street To Walk
In that afternoon, on my way back home from school, I lost myself in the crowd marching forward to the Corporation with the appeal to hold the loaded trucks from entering the streets of a local area as those trucks were leading the roads to bad conditions and the local people were conscious enough to understand the importance of a road.
But every protests like this have a leader. Where is he? I didn't have to look thirstily for it as I got him after leading myself to the front through the crowd. It was a young person, as old as my elder brother and a microphone in his hand with strong words of bravery and truth, speaking the importance of a road. And the crowd would go crazy with a chorus - A Street To Walk. Yes, it was correct indeed. If this road couldn't be well enough then how the ways of life be better?
Walking along the crowd, I didn't get when I also became one of it's parts. I got aware of it when we just reached the highway crossing the streets. The four wheelers had stopped beside the road and I was expecting the police to enter the scene but nothing happened such.
I was unconscious about it when did I come just beside that young person! I got to know it when he spoke to my ears, "Heyo, how does it feel to fight for the people?" His question hit me in my brain and stirred me!
Finally we reached the corporation peacefully. Public deputation was commenced and I left the crowd for my home.
The next morning, I heard it clearly that the corporation banned the trucks to enter the localities. There was more to my surprises! In school, we were being introduced to that Leader of the long-march as our new Maths teacher - Pratul Babu.
