(I). Let the total no. Of apples be x
No. Of rotten apples = x/3
Ratio of rotten apples to good apples
= rotten apples / good apples = (x/3) / [x - (x/3)] = (x/3) / (2x/3) = 3x / 6x = 1/2 = 1:2

(ii) Let the number of audience be x
No. Of children = 3x/16
Ratio of children to adult
= children / adult = (3x/16) / [x - (3x/16)] = (3x/16) / 13x/16 = 3/13 = 3:13

(Iii) Let the number of students be x
No. Of teachers = x/10
Teacher student ratio = teacher / student = (x/10) / x = 1/10 = 1:10

(iv) Let the number of passed students be x
No. Of failed students = x/6
Pass fail ratio = passed / failed = x/(x/6) = 6/1 = 6:1
