Binary fission is a simple division of unicellular organisms into two similar daughter cells of roughly equal size exactly identical in shape.
In this process nucleus divides first and then the cytoplasm and the man is daughters and grows in size before dividing again.
This type of reproduction occurs in bacteria, some algae and fungus. Sometimes particularly during unfavourable conditions a cyst is produced around the cell .The cell divides many times within the system produced many daughters cells. This is called as multi fission
Fragmentation
In some organisms such as spirogyra filaments break up into two or more fragments upon maturation. These fragments grow in to new individuals.
