can anyone explain me to this statement that thecovalently bonded molecules have strong bond within the molecues but inter molecules forces are small

Covalent bonding has strong bond between the molecules because sharing of electrons takes place.

The intermolecular forces are weak because they don't contain a charge like Ionic compounds. If there was a +ve and -ve charge, then the attraction would be strong.
