Can Anyone Explain me what is Eddy Currents?in simple language..

Monishsaifi: When a conductor is moved in a magnetic field, induced currents are
generated in the whole volume of the conductor. These currents are called eddy
currents.

Eddy currents (also called Foucault currents) are loops of electrical current induced within conductors by a changing magnetic field in the conductor due to Faraday's law of induction. ... This effect is employed in eddy current brakes which are used to stop rotating power tools quickly when they are turned off.

lahore778: in simple eddy current is a current produced as a result of applied current and its direction is always opposite to the applied current
kushal11146: ohk
jacksmith99: yea. did u get it?
kushal11146: nope...
lahore778: its simple

Eddy currents are the currents induced in a solid thick mettalic masses when magnetic flux linked with them changes and it also opposes the change in magnetic flux so their direction is given by Lenz's law.
