Answer:

So gravitation is basically about the attraction of things towards the center of the Earth  .

And , every body attracts another body ( this however is negligible )

Newton stated a law regarding Gravitation which is known as

Newton's universal law of gravitation .

Newton's universal law of gravitation :

Force of attraction = Gm₁m₂ / r²

Here ,

G is universal gravitational constant

m₁ , m₂ are the masses of the two bodies

r is the distance between them .

Value of G is 6.67 ˣ 10⁻¹¹ Nm² / kg

Most of the problems are based on it .

The acceleration with which a body will fall when released from a certain height when under the influence of gravity is termed as

gravitational acceleration [ g ] .

Derivation of gravitational acceleration :

F = m₁a

a = g

F = m₁g

F is also = Gm₁m₂ / r²

this means that ,

F = m₁g = Gm₁m₂ / r²

m₁ gets cancelled on both sides

g = Gm₂ / r²

the value of g varies with height and depth . It decreases as we move up or down .

Value of g on earth = 9.8 m/s²

Hope it helped and please mark as brainliest:)
