It's the reaction between Phenol and Aldehyde.

Explanation:

Here, Phenol is reacting qith Aldehyde to give o- methane-diol and p- methane-diol since Phenol is a ortho-para directing group.

Here, the p- methane-diol will be the chief product because, in o- methane-diol, there is steric hindrance due to which it becomes a minor product.
