Can anyone explain the 'Challenges to Democracy' lesson in Democratic Politics?

In this chapter we are taught about the challenge faced by the democratic countries.
what a challange is?
A challange is not just a problem but its a difficulty that carries within an opportunity of progress. Once we over come a challange we go t higher level.
Then we're told about various chllanges faced by the countries like 1) fundamental challenges 2) deepening of democracy 3) challange of expansion.
1) In the fundamental challenges we're taught that how some countries are still not under the umbrella of democratic countries.
The countries face the fundamental challenges of making the transition to democracy and then Instituting democratic gvt. This involves bringing down non democratic govt. keeping military away from controlling govt.
2) Deepening of democracy:.
it is faced by almost all tge countries of the world . this involves strengthing of institutions and practices of democracy.
3) then the last one is Challange of expansion : most of the recently established democracy face this challange . this involves applying all the basic principles of democratic govt across all the regions. ensuring greater power to the govt. .
