here hexaploid wheat plant is crossed with diploid rye plant which resulted in the formation of a hybrid called triticale during fertilisation gametes which are haploid fuse to give the diploid to restore the chromosome number.wheat produces two gametes of 3x=21 each and the produces two gametes of x=7 each.

Explanation:

6x =42 so 3x= 21 in wheat while in the 2x=14 ,x=7

so crossing of 3x and x results in 4x=28 colchicine is a chemical used for chromosome doubling

4x *2= 28*2,8x = 56
