Given --
ADP + P ———> ADP ~ P = ATP
ADP here means Adinosine DiPhostphate and as given P is for phosphate and you may know very well that 2+1 gives 3 so when an extra phosphate molecule is added to DiPhosphate(meaning two phosphate molecules) with the help of energy it gives out ATP or Adinosine TriPhosphate and by ATP's name it is clear that it contains three phosphate molecules.
Hope it helps you.
