-2k^2 + 4k - 2 = 0

-2k^2 +2k + 2k - 2 = 0

-2k(k - 1) +1(k - 1) = 0

(k - 1)(-2k + 1) = 0

=> (k - 1) = 0 or (-2k + 1) = 0

=> k = 1 or k = 1/2

Answer:

BY SPLITTING MIDDLE TERM

Step-by-step explanation:

-2k² + 4k - 2 = 0

-2k² + 2k + 2k -2 = 0

-2k ( k - 1 ) + 2 (k - 1) = 0

(-2k + 2) (k - 1) = 0

-2k + 2 = 0

  • k = 1
  • k - 1 = 0
  • k = 1
