demerits of dobereriner's traids:-
* All the elements could not be grouped in traids
*that time many elements were not discovered
*not even a single nobel gas was discovered
* Quite a large number of similar elements could not be grouped into triads e.g. iron, manganese, nickel, cobalt, zinc and copper are similar elements but cannot be placed in the triads.
* It was possible that quite dissimilar elements could be grouped into triads.
As Dobereiner failed to arrange the then known elements in the form of triads, his classification was not very successful.
limitations of octaves r
newland law was applicable only up to calcium >.the new elements discovered did not have properties as eighth element
newland adjusted two elements in same slot but also put unlike elements under same note >iron which had similar to cobalt nd nickel has been placed far way from these elements
This law could be best applied, only up to the element calcium.
Newly discovered elements could not fit into the octave structure.
The feature of resemblance of the 8thelement when arranged in increasing order of their atomic mass was not successful with heavier elements.
It was assumed by Newland that only 56 element existed in nature and no more elements would e discovered in the future
