Can anyone give me some methods to identify which substances are monocots or dicots that is without actually seeing the grain. Or can somebody give me a very wide range of examples for monocots and dicots.

Yes, you can identify them with helps of venation in their leaves.
Generally Monocots have parallel venation and Dicots have Reticulate venation.
Examples of Monocots
Rice, Wheat, Sugarcane, Onion, Aloe, Lily, Tulip and Garlic etc
Examples of Dicots
Sunflower, Mango, Pumpkin, Cucumber, Gram, Pea, Ground nut etc
