Flood-It is caused when increased rainfall leads to overflow of water from rivers.Sometimes flooding  also takes place due to the silting in river caused by the construction of dam. This raises river bed and therefore the chances of flood increase.
Earthquake-It is caused due to the abrupt shift of rock along a fracture line in the Earth.
Volcano- Volcano eruption is caused due to the pressure and density. When the part of lower crust or upper mantle melts,it forms magma. Its mass remain the same while its volume increases. It is less dense than the surrounding rock. This causes low density magma  to rise and reach the earth surface. As magma rises it forms bubble and these gas bubbles exerts extreme pressure to bring magma on the surface.
Cyclone-1.Tropical cyclones are formed only over the warm ocean water around equator.Air from surrounding high pressure areas pushes into the low pressure areas. This surrounding cool air become warm and moist and rises and this cycle continues.
2.When the warm air rises it cool down.It forms cloud. The whole system of cloud and wind grows and fed by the evaporated water from the ocean.
3.As the storm rotates faster and faster, it forms eye in the centre which is calm, clear and of low pressure.
4.As the cyclone reaches the land surface, it get decapitate.
Here are some common preventive measures to reduce damage to life and property:
1.Avoid residing near disaster prone(flood prone, earthquake prone, landslide prone, riots prone, industrial accidents prone etc.) areas.
2.Build houses on higher ground with proper drainage if living in flood prone areas and build a strong house if living near earthquake prone areas.
3.Ensure your house has essential utilities like medical kit, torch, water bottles, and fire extinguisher etc.
4.At the time of earthquake, stay away from heavy furniture, glass and gas cylinders.Try to get shelter inside strong bed or table if you are not able to vacate the place.
5.Review your insurance policy to ensure that it provides adequate coverage
6.Be aware and don't panic at the time disaster strikes.
